Stunning mid century oil painting by listed artist Gunnar Hållander Sweden titled "Peppers" dated 1963 on the reverse. Confident impasto palette knife technique and harmonious colors make up this striking still life.  A simple but very effective composition. Painted in thicker impasto. This painting is stunning in person- my photography does not capture the beauty of this piece. Mid century paintings of this caliber are getting harder to come by.

Artist:  Gunnar Hållander (1915-1980) Studied with Otte Sköld, Stockholm. Represented in public collections including Modera Museet and Nationalmuseum, Stockholm and in Paris at the Tessin Institute.
