Vintage Figure Expressionist Oil Painting from Sweden by Emland 1960's

Vintage expressionist oil painting titled "Summer" signed by, listed artist, Einar Emland (1916-1994) Sweden. Thicker impasto paint application in with expressive brushwork. E Emland studied painting with Jules Schyl at Tekniska Skolan, and with Wilhelm Grüttrud in Oslo, with Rostrup Bøyesen in Copenhagen and at Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris 1946-1951. He is represented in many museum collections in Sweden. He liked to depict everyday people and happenings and believed that art should available to everyone not just the wealthy. His paintings are often compared to Edvard Munch, Carl Kylberg, Emil Nolde, Camille Corot and Jean François Millet. Oil on canvas. Frame shows wear. Signed lower left.
