Stunning vintage art mid century oil painting by listed artist, Gunnar Persson, from Sweden dated 1968. Expressive brushwork and harmonious colors make up this atmospheric interior. I love the small touch of violet in the vase of flowers placed on the table. Painted in a wonderful thick impasto with a beautiful use of tonal greens, blues and grays with a beautiful luminosity. This painting is stunning in person- my photography does not capture the beautiful subtle coloring in this piece. I love this painting-my photography does not do it justice!!
Artist: Gunnar Persson (1908-1975) Gunnar Persson studied at Gottfrid Larssons målarskola in Stockholm 1928-1931 and during various trips to southern Europe. Persson is represented in Modern Museet, Kalmar Museum, Östersunds Museum and in various public collections.
