Mid century portrait by listed artist Fritz Holmér from Sweden. Painted with confident expressive brushstrokes in a softer color palette. A refreshing vitality is preserved in this painting left in the middle stages of completion. Excellent use of color and composition. I love the scarf tied around her head. Very striking in person.
Artist: Fritz Holmér (1906-1967) Studied with Filip Månsson, Isaac Grünewald and Gösta von Hennigs, Stockholm. Recipient of many awards Holmér is represented in many museum collections in Sweden including Moderna Museet, Nationalmuseum, Malmö Museet, Statens historiska museum and Prins Eugens Waldemarsudde.
