Mid Century Vintage Original Floral Oil Painting From Sweden

Fantastic mid century still life from Sweden by listed artist Sigfrid Bengtsson titled "The Glass Horse and Flower". Excellent paint handing with beautiful color harmony and a lovely composition in this striking oil of a purple iris in a turquoise vase and a small decorative glass horse. The impasto brushwork and muted background add depth and character to this elegant composition. My photography does not do this painting justice- the colors are very lovely in person. A classic mid century still life.

Artist: Sigfrid Bengtsson (1898- 1985) Swedish painter and illustrator. Pursued art studies at Berggren's and Larsson's painting schools in Stockholm and Skånska Painting School, Malmö. Helped to found the artist group "Blandningen". Represented Malmö Museum and Ystad Art Museum.
