Lovely oil painting by listed Swedish artist Einar Emland titled "Outdoor Seating". Striking mid century oil painting of an outdoor cafe rendered in thick impasto with confident brushwork in a tonal color palette. Excellent use of composition and color. Love this one!
Artist: Einar Emland (1916-1994) E Emland studied painting with Jules Schyl at Tekniska Skolan, and with Wilhelm Grüttrud in Oslo, with Rostrup Bøyesen in Copenhagen and at Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris 1946-1951. He is represented in many museum collections in Sweden. He liked to depict everyday people and happenings and believed that art should available to everyone not just the wealthy.
