Mid Century Original Still Life Oil Painting By G Persson Sweden 1956

Stunning mid century oil painting by listed artist, Gunnar Persson, from Sweden dated 1956. Expressive brushwork and harmonious colors make up this wonderful still life of a clear glass kerosine lamp. Painted in a wonderful impasto with a beautiful  use of tonal greens, blues and yellows with an excellent composition. This painting glows in person- my photography does not capture the beautiful subtle coloring in this piece.  

Artist:  Gunnar Persson (1908-1975)  Gunnar Persson studied at Gottfrid Larssons målarskola in Stockholm 1928-1931 and during various trips to southern Europe. Persson is represented in Modern Museet, Kalmar Museum, Östersunds Museum and in various public collections.
