Large and amazingly beautiful still life oil painting by listed artist Sven Linder from Sweden. Very charming oil of colorful flowers in a ceramic vase with what must be mementos from the artist's travels. Excellent use of color and composition and oozing with charm. A great example of mid century painting and gorgeous in person!!
Artist: Sven Linder (1919-2007) He was the son of commercial gardener Karl Arvid Linder and Edla Widström and from 1944 married to Gerd Eva Pollack. He trained as a decorator at Oscar Lundqvist's Decor School in Stockholm in 1937, but as an artist he was mainly self taught. He worked in advertising and pursued his art as a hobby, but in 1946 he switched to being an artist full-time. His art consists of still lifes, figures, portraits and landscapes with motifs from the Swedish coast. Represented in many public and private collections.
