Mid Century Harbor Scene Original Vintage Oil Painting from Sweden

Lovely vintage oil painting by listed Swedish artist Einar Emland titled "In the Fishing Spot". Painted in impressively thick impasto with confident brushwork in a bold color palette of three figures in a harbor with a choppy sea in the background. Excellent use of composition and color. Love this one! 

Artist:  Einar Emland (1916-1994)  E Emland studied painting with Jules Schyl at Tekniska Skolan, and with Wilhelm Grüttrud in Oslo, with Rostrup Bøyesen in Copenhagen and at Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris 1946-1951. He is represented in many museum collections in Sweden. He liked to depict everyday people and happenings and believed that art should available to everyone not just the wealthy.
