Original Vintage still life oil painting from Sweden by listed artist Agda Holst. The artist has beautifully rendered the subject matter featuring a collection of freshly picked mushrooms in a simplified but elegant way. The composition very effectively emphasizes the atmosphere and stillness of this painting. Confident, expressive brushwork with a lovely color harmony. Agda Holst is another artist that has gained a lot of popularity over the past 10 years. This stunning still life is a a painting I've had in my collection for years but have decided to part with. A decision I'll most likely regret. My photography does not do justice to this striking still life.
Artist: Agda Holst (1886-1976) Studied in Paris at Academie Colarossi and with Christian Krohg, Andre Lhote and Kees Van Dongen. Studied in Munich with Julius Exter. Exhibited internationally in Denmark, Germany and USA plus in her home country of Sweden.
