Mid Century Original Still Life Oil Painting from Sweden 1962 Gunnar Persson

Amazing mid century oil painting by listed artist Gunnar Persson (1908-1975) from Sweden dated 1962. Expressive brushwork and harmonious colors make up this wonderful still life of irises in a vase with thick impasto color. Beautiful use of greens, blues and grays and an excellent composition. This painting is stunning in person- my photography does not capture the beautiful coloring in this piece. Signed lower right and dated '62. Frame shows some wear. Oil on linen. Gunnar Persson studied at Gottfrid Larssons målarskola in Stockholm 1928-1931 and during various trips to southern Europe. Persson is represented in Modern Museet, Kalmar Museum, Östersunds Museum and in various public collections. I love this painting!!
