Gorgeous mid century still life by listed artist Gerhard Karlmark from Sweden. Excellent use of color and composition. It's so hard to create movement in flower paintings but Karlmark has succeeded with his use of color, shape and line. Artist: Gerhard Karlmark (1905-1976) Gerhard Karlmark studied at Konstakademin in Stockholm and travelled on self directed painting study trips around Europe.  Represented in several museum collections in Sweden (Malmö, Ystad). This artist has been auctioned at Christie's. Another painting I'll probably regret not keeping! Paintings of this caliber are getting harder and harder to come by. So striking in person!
