Stunning vintage mid century oil painting signed by listed Swedish artist Svenerik Markhed (1925-1996). Super mod mid century oil in harmonious tones of buildings broken down and simplified into larger blocks of color. Excellent balance of color, shape, texture and value. The blue sky really livens up the painting and creates a beautiful contrast against the warmer tones of the buildings. The lower left corner of the canvas has loosened from the board it was applied to- all part of the vintaage charm. This does not detract from the charm of this piece. Stunning in person!
