Striking coastal oil painting from Sweden by listed artist Olof Arén. Harmonious color with punches of saturated color smartly accentuated by the gray tones. Excellent paint handling with expressive brushwork by a very accomplished artist. Striking in person!

Artist:  Olof Arén (1918-2003)  Arén studied the art industrial line at University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm 1937–1942 and with Isaac Grünewald and Fritiof Schuldt at the royal Academy of Art 1941–1946 as well as during study trips to  Germany, Belgium, France and Sicily. He was awarded the Gold Medal of the Italian Art Academy Academia della Arte & del Lavoro. He is represented in Stockholm Municipality, Stockholm City Hall, the Parliament House, the State Arts Council and in other public collections around Sweden.
