Mid Century Original Still Life Oil Painting by Allan Erwö Sweden 1960

Super mod mid century still life in soothing subdued tones with juicy impasto brushstroke by Swedish listed artist Allan Erwö (1921-2007) from 1960. This painting is gorgeous! Beautiful use of color in a limited palette which creates a beautiful color harmony. Erwö studied painting at Skånska Målarskolan and Konstakademien in Copenhagen complimenting his studies with painting trips to Paris, south of France and Spain. Erwö was very active in the art scene in southern Sweden for much of his life after an early debut at the age of 21. Erwö is represented in many museum and public collections in Sweden. Lovely paint application and great color usage. Signed and dated lower left. Comes in original frame which shows wear. Very striking in person!
