Original Vintage Mid Century Still Life dated 1938 by listed artist, Eric Cederberg (1897-1984) Sweden. Bold brushstrokes applied in flowing heavy impasto and harmonious color. A beautiful textured and minimalist composition. The contrast of of light and shadow adds depth to the scene emphasizing the simplicity and excellent use of design. These paintings are getting harder and harder to come by as Cederberg is starting to become quite collectable. A jewel of a painting by a very accomplished artist. This painting was hard to photograph because of light bouncing off of the surface of the painting but I can assure you it is very absolutely beautiful in person! There is a lot of craquelure in the painting which is normal and it does not affect the integrity of this piece.
