Mid Century Oil Painting by listed artist Richard Björklund from Sweden. Stunning oil painting of a charming Spanish street that verges on abstraction. Beautiful use of warm and cool colours. A solid composition with depth and excellent use of line with confident brushwork. A lovely example of mid century art! A spectacular oil by a well known and highly collectible artist. 

Artist: Richard Björklund (1897-1974) Björklund studied at Campbells Painting Academy in Lund, Sweden 1919-1920 then in Paris 1921 at Académie de la Grand Chaumière and Académie Montparnasse. He was in Berlin 1923 and back in Paris at the Académie de la Grand Chaumière in 1924. His work is represented in many collections including the Nationalmuseum Stockholm, Moderna Museet Stockholm, Malmö Museum, Prins Eugens Waldermarsudde Collection, Ystads Art Museum, Lunds Universitets Art Museum, and Gripsholms Castle.
