Excellent and charming oil painting by Swedish listed artist Tor Hörlin (1910-2003) dated 1949.  Beautifully rendered classic still life with an excellent composition and confident paint handling rendered in harmonious color. The color handling is excellent and the artist despite using so many colors manages expertly to retain a freshness in his paint application.Excellent composition. So striking. I love this painting!

Artist:  Tor Hörlin (1899-1985) Studied Althin's Painting School and later at the Academy of Fine Arts, Stockholm 1919 -1923. Head instructor at the School of Art in Decorative Painting, Stockholm  1947 -1957 and a member of the Swedish Arts Council 1943 -1949. Represented National Museum and Modern Museum, Stockholm, Gothenburg Art Museum, Malmö Museum, Norrköping Art Museum and Örebro County Museum.
