A Little About Vintage Art Room

Hi

I’m Elaine, the owner of Vintage Art Room. My gallery was born out of a lifetime love of art, an understanding of painting and a passion for collecting.

I grew up in Tampa, Florida, moved to Sweden when I was 23 and between then and now have lived a nomadic life with my husband and children living in Sydney, Tokyo, Singapore, USA (again) and now in Falsterbo, Sweden.

In my 40's I trained fulltime for 4 1/2 years as a classical portrait painter. It was hard work but wonderful. Buying art can sometimes seem intimidating and that's where my expertise as a formally trained artist comes into play. 

My number one advice to customers since 2013 has been "Does it make your heart sing?". If it does, you've found your piece. That's how I choose the paintings. I know within seconds of looking at a painting if it will fit into my collection online and I would never sell anything I wouldn't hang in my own home. If you love what you collect it will fit into your home. Don't worry about matching the painting to the sofa.

I want to make art buying affordable and easy for my customers. My gallery supplies art to a wide range of clients around the world including galleries, hotels, restaurants, retail stores and interior designers (I've even sold to a museum!).
