Vintage Oil Painting by Stig Wernheden listed artist from Sweden. A vibrant mid century oil depicting a Mediterranean coastal scene of fishermen working on their nets along a sandy shore. Bold simplified shapes and a rich color palette creates a dynamic composition.The loose brushwork and geometric shapes give the painting a modernist feel. This scene is possibly from the coastal town Cadaques, Spain where Salvador Dali and other modernists often painted.  My photography does not do this painting justice!

Artist: Stig Wernheden listed artist (1921-1997) Wernheden is represented in public collections in Sweden including the Moderna Museet, Malmö Museum and Ystad Art Museum.
