Swedish Vintage Art Kitchen Still Life Oil Painting From Sweden

Beautiful framed older still life oil painting from Sweden. Moody, traditional and sensitively rendered realistic kitchen still life of salmon and spruce twigs. These two ingredients are used in the traditional preparation of the Nordic dish called "gravlax" where the fish is cured with salt, sugar and dill. Then the fish is garnished with spruce twigs. Excellent paint handling and stunning composition with expressive loose brushwork. Some craquelure in the darker color that isn't unusual for older paintings and does not affect the integrity of this piece. *My poor photography does not do this piece justice. Light reflected off the deeper tones made this piece hard to capture.  Striking in person.
