Original Vintage Art Room Mid Century Oil Painting Sweden

Fabulous original vintage oil painting by popular and listed Swedish artist Bengt Hillgrund dated 1965. Beautiful color and great composition in this lovely oil of an a street scene. I love the glimpse of the cerulean blue sky that draws the viewer deep into the scene. The artist really knew how to mix color and the color harmony is just beautiful. As always in Hillgrund's paintings the paint is laid down in confident brushstrokes. There are some areas of thicker impasto and there is a very nice luminosity to this painting. Must see in person- a lovely painting by a highly collectible artist. My photography does not do this piece justice!

Artist:   Bengt Hillgrund (1935-1981) is represented in various museum collections in Sweden. Studied in Sweden and Copenhagen.
