Striking Mid Century oil painting from Sweden by popular and listed artist Allan Erwö dated 1957. Lovely coastal scene painted in a beautiful limited palette which creates a beautiful color harmony. Excellent use of design and composition. Confident expressive brush strokes in thicker impasto on stretched linen. A small repair in the canvas on the upper left but this does not detract from the beauty of this piece. This painting is just gorgeous in person and has a beautiful glow!! 

Artist:  Allan Erwö (1921-2007) Listed artist.  Erwö studied art at Skånska Målarskolan and Konstakademien in Copenhagen complimenting his studies with painting trips to Paris, South of France and Spain. Erwö was very active in the art scene in southern Sweden for much of his life after an early debut at the age of 21. Erwö is represented in many museum and public collections in Sweden.
