Vintage Mid Century Expressionist Oil Painting By E Emland Sweden

Lovely mid century oil painting by listed Swedish artist Einar Emland. Titled "In Her Thoughts" on the reverse. A wonderfully serene interior portrait of a woman sitting peacefully with her hands folded in her lap. Thoughtfully painted without being too sweet this painting is simplicity at its best. Artist:  Einar Emland (1916-1994)  E Emland studied painting with Jules Schyl at Tekniska Skolan, and with Wilhelm Grüttrud in Oslo, with Rostrup Bøyesen in Copenhagen and at Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris 1946-1951. He is represented in many museum collections in Sweden. He liked to depict everyday people and happenings and believed that art should available to everyone not just the wealthy.
