Gorgeous mid century oil painting by listed artist Gerhard Karlmark from Sweden. Atmospheric landscape with a fantastic use of color. The composition draws the viewer deep into the striking scene. Karlmark knew how to use color and design. Excellent painting by another one of my favourite artist. So striking in person!

Artist: Gerhard Karlmark (1905-1976) Gerhard Karlmark studied at Konstakademin in Stockholm and travelled on self directed painting study trips around Europe. Represented in several museum collections in Sweden (Malmö, Ystad). This artist has been auctioned at Christie's. Another painting I'll probably regret not keeping! Paintings of this caliber are getting harder and harder to come by. So striking in person!
