Mid Century Original Vintage Oil Painting from Sweden
Lovely oil painting by listed Swedish artist Einar Emland. Striking mid century oil painting of three women talking together rendered in impressively thick impasto with confident brushwork in a saturated color palette. A faint shadow of city buildings in the background. Excellent use of composition and color. Love this one!
Artist: Einar Emland (1916-1994) E Emland studied painting with Jules Schyl at Tekniska Skolan, and with Wilhelm Grüttrud in Oslo, with Rostrup Bøyesen in Copenhagen and at Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris 1946-1951. He is represented in many museum collections in Sweden. He liked to depict everyday people and happenings and believed that art should available to everyone not just the wealthy.
