Mid Century Original Landscape Oil Painting From Sweden

Striking mid century landscape painting from Sweden by listed artist Asti Ekengren-Larsson dated 1951. Atmospheric lakeside scene rendered in harmonious tones. The color mixing in this piece is excellent- the artist really knew how to use color. A solid composition and excellent use of line with confident brushwork. Lovely in person.

Artist: Asti Ekengren-Larsson listed artist (1898-1990)  Ekengren-Larsson studied with silversmith Märta af Ekenstam. She was active in her own arts and crafts studio in Eskilstuna 1919–1926. During the years 1926–1928 she lived in Moscow and took the opportunity to study the arts and crafts in Moscow museums. She was a private student of Hugo Carlberg 1934–1938 and studied at Skånska Målarskolan in 1940.
