Charming floral oil painting from Sweden by listed artist Åke Johansson. Atmospheric still life painting of poppies on a table painted in a naive style. The dark background really makes the color pop and there is no hesitation in the paint application. A lovely still life by a very collectable artist. Striking in person! There is some craquelure but this does not affect the integrity of this piece and is considered part of the vintage charm!

Artist: Åke Johansson (1893-1968) Studied in Stockholm, Berlin and Paris. Represented in many collections including the Zorn Collection in Mora, Dalarna Museum in Falun, Kalmar Art Museum, Gävle Museum, Waldemarsudde in Stockholm, Stockholm City Museum and Moderna Museet in Stockholm.
