Large super mod mid century oil of a clown dated 1963. You can't get any more mid century than this clown portrait. A beautifully and sensitively rendered portrait. I love this circus clown with his oversized blue ruffled collar standing in an arena under a spotlight playing the violin. The bold color usage emphasizes the atmosphere of the painting. Very striking in person.
