Striking floral painting by Swedish listed artist Eva Holmberg-Jacobsson (1910-2003) dated 1977. An exceptionally beautiful floral painting rendered in strong saturated color and confident, expressive brushwork makes up this charming painting of orange tiger lilies in a garden. I love the pop of the lemony yellow of the awning in the back right corner and the usage of the blue in the flowers behind the day lilies that really makes the orange color glow. Excellent use of design, line and color. Gorgeous in person!
Artist: Eva Holmberg-Jacobsson (1910-2003) Listed artist from Sweden. Eva Holmberg Jacobsson studied with Otte Sköld who trained many well known Swedish artists and in Paris. She started her career as a fashion illustrator in Paris for some of the big fashion houses. She is represented in Malmö Museum, museums in Helsingborg, Trelleborg and Landskrona, and Artcurial, Paris and in Cairo.
