Vintage Art Room Mid Century Original Still Life Oil Painting from Sweden
Mid century vintage still life oil painting by listed artist Ove Olson from Sweden dated 1959. Super mod mid century kitchen still life in rich color of two Bosc pears on a table. Excellent use of composition in this classic mid century oil painting. The subjects in the painting are beautifully rendered with confident brushwork that shows no hesitation. These mid century paintings are getting harder and harder to come by and this one is so very striking in person!
Artist: Ove Olson (1903-1994) Studied with Tage Hansson at Skånska målarskolan, Malmö, and at Maison Watteau in Paris. He ttook self directed study trips to France and Spain. He has painted landscapes from the outskirts of Paris, harbor views, flower still lifes. Recipient of the city of Paris' cultural prize and he was also awarded the red ribbon of the Legion of Honor.
He participated in several art exhibitions in Sweden.
Represented: The National Museum in Tours, France, Intitut Tessin, Paris, Malmö Museum, Helsingborgs, Landskrona, Ystad and Kristianstad museums.
