Mid Century vintage farmhouse oil painting by Gustav Rudberg, listed artist, from Sweden titled "The Abandoned Farm". An abstract composition in deep tones of black and muted green contrasted with subtle hints of pink. The expressive impasto brushwork and layered forms convey a moody, atmospheric quality. Artist: Gustav Rudberg (1915-2001) Artist and graphic artist. Studied art in 1934 at Brandt's Drawing School, Copenhagen then with Kraesten Iversen at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts 1935-37. Then he continued his artistic training at the Royal Institute of Art, Stockholm 1937-43 where he was greatly influenced by Isaac Grünewald. Represented in many museum collections in Sweden including Moderna Museet in Stockholm, Malmö Museum, Helsingborg's Museum, and Gothenburg Art Museum. We exhibited widely and received critical acclaim for his atmospheric depictions of Scandinavian landscapes. His artwork is very sought after.
